Surgery Preparation
ABOUT
Pre-Surgery Checklist
Your journey to clearer vision begins before you arrive at the clinic. Preparing well ensures your procedure goes smoothly and sets you up for the best possible results.
- Stop wearing contact lenses. Switch to glasses in advance, 1–2 weeks for soft lenses, up to 4–6 weeks for rigid or specialty lenses.
- Check your medications. Let us know about any prescriptions, supplements, or eye drops you take. Some may need to be adjusted.
- Prioritise sleep and hydration. A rested, hydrated body recovers more efficiently.
- Avoid alcohol the day before surgery.
Health & Lifestyle Preparations
Share your full medical history. Be open about conditions like diabetes, autoimmune disorders, or past surgeries.
Stay healthy leading up to surgery. Try to avoid catching colds or infections. If you feel unwell, let us know immediately.
On the Day of Surgery
Dress comfortably
Wear loose clothing that doesn’t need to be pulled over your head. Avoid makeup, perfume, lotions, or hair products.
Eat a light meal
Unless told otherwise, have a small meal beforehand.
Arrange a lift home
Arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you if possible, until you settle in at home.
