The EVO Visian ICL, manufactured by Staar Surgical, is a thin, clear lens implanted inside the eye to correct short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism.

Unlike laser vision correction, your natural lens is not removed. Instead, the EVO ICL works much like a permanent contact lens, providing clear, predictable vision correction without daily maintenance. Because the lens sits inside the eye, you cannot feel it, and it is made from a biocompatible material designed to remain safely in place for life.

This treatment is most suitable for patients aged 21 to 45 who:

Have high prescriptions outside the range for LASIK or PRK
Have thin or irregular corneas that make laser procedures less suitable

Unfortunately, the Federal Government has determined that laser eye surgery will not be covered by Medicare as it is considered a lifestyle surgery.
